Hi everyone!
I’m so excited to finally launch this blog, something I’ve dreamed about since I was 21. As I start this new year and approach my first anniversary of marriage, embracing a season where I want to be more intentional with my time while growing my wealth, it feels like the perfect moment to begin.
I’m a 25-year-old, deeply invested (pun intended) in building wealth while balancing wellness and creating a more intentional life. In today’s hustle-and-grind culture, it’s easy to get caught up in chasing more—more money, more things, more prestige, more success. And I’ve absolutely been there, swept up in the mindset of “more and more.” But this year, I’m committing to a different, and honestly, more uncomfortable journey for myself.
I want to lean into gratitude for what I already have while building a life that prioritizes joy, freedom, and financial independence over chasing someone else’s version of success. For me, that means acknowledging where I am: inheriting $143,000 in student loan debt when I got married, in addition to tacking on additional debt with two auto loans, bringing my household’s total debt to almost $200,000. It’s a heavy number, but instead of letting it hold me back, I’m using it as a starting point for something greater.
I share my life with my wonderful husband and our beloved dog, and together, we’re laying the foundation for financial independence. For me, that looks like diving deeper into long-term investing, exploring the stock market, and making thoughtful decisions about how we use and grow our resources. For my husband, that means paying down student loan debt, building a business, and embracing gratitude even in challenging times.
I’m inspired by the idea that financial freedom doesn’t mean endless grind—it means creating the ability to live a life that aligns with your values. Through Building Balance and Bank, I’ll share practical tips and strategies for couple finances, personal finance books, investing, saving, and mindful spending. I’ll also explore how to cultivate balance in a world that glorifies burnout (as I continue to figure that out myself).
You can expect financial tips, insider knowledge into merging finances as a Gen Z married couple, and honest reflections on the intersection of money, wellness, and intentional living.
Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to Building Balance and Bank!
